I really want to thank European Aquatics and all the organizers and lectures for this course. It is a privilege to participate and learn from you. I am sorry for asking so many questions. But I also think that it is important to understand different standpoints. I am a national level DTC with little if any contact to international level. It is easy to be a little bit behind. I think we work quite similarly at most of the points but I myself struggle most when it comes to the word gradually. I think I tend to be more strict and would think about obvious mistakes earlier. Last weekend I learned some guidelines to notice VOMs. I never heard of the 50-50 rule before for example, it is not written in the rules. When we started with the coach cards and DTCs a few years ago the understanding of the rules was very different than what it is today. There were no allowances and you had you fulfill what was coded or do more. Now we start to have some allowances and basemarks are given only for very obvious mistakes. I think it is necessary to have this kind of courses to help us to be on the same page. I think it is essential to understand why different people understand the rules differently (for example what is BM and what is not). Hopefully in the future the rules will be written so that it all can be understood by reading them. I think that is the only way to get consistency from competition to competition throughout the world. If we manage that at some point it will be fairer to the athletes and coaches. And easier for DTCs. I don't know if anybody else ever thinks about the other athlete. The one that is not swimming right know. The one who maybe read the rules really well and for example in A5, F6c or F8a kept the legs lower (rule: by the halfway point the legs/bottom leg should not be higher than 45degrees). I think that other athlete ends up having a lower DD. I think it is harder and slower to do it with legs lower like that. I might be wrong (definitely can't do it myself). But still I think it will be fairer to all the athletes and coaches if the rules and allowances will be easier to understand. Hello, I would like to clarify one answer in the test which I am not sure about. The question was as follows: “The free combination team coach card does not show a theme. As DTC you:” a) Ignore it, it doesn’t matter b) Inform the referee there is a 2-point penalty c) Inform the referee there is a 0.5 penalty d) Inform the referee there is an 8-point penalty I answered B, but it was marked as incorrect. However, according to the regulations I found the following: AS 18.8 – Penalties in Free Combination: “A two-point penalty should be deducted from the routine score for violation of a general requirement 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in Appendix 5.” And in the 19.1 general requirements it is written that: ……. 6. The routine must portray a theme, which must be declared on the coach card. Based on this, I understood that the absence of a declared theme on the coach card should result in a 2-point penalty, and therefore I chose option B. Could you please clarify why this was considered incorrect?
