Born and raised in Madrid, Sylvia has been immersed in the water since infancy. With more than 30 years of experience in synchronized and artistic swimming, she has coached athletes from beginner level to world-class competitors. 

She holds a Ph.D. in High Performance Sport from Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and studied Sport Science at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Sylvia is also a coach educator for the Spanish and Portuguese Federations and has worked as a national coach inPortugal, Switzerland, and Spain. 

Among her achievements, she played a key role in coaching the Portuguese duet to Top 8 finishes and Olympic qualification at the 2024 World Championships in Doha. 

Her coaching philosophy combines scientific rigor with artistic sensitivity, focusing on technical excellence, perceptual awareness, sculling mastery and musical fluidity.
