Jouni Karvo holds a master’s degree in economics, Business Administration. Since early 1980’s he has served as a Business Consultant, Advisor and Board Professional. He is specialized in strategy planning, development and execution, growth strategies, corporate governance, and board performance. As a Board Professional he normally serves as Board Chair or Advisor to the Board and Shareholders.

He served the Finnish Swimming Federation as a Board Member in 2020-2021 and as Vice President in 2021-2022. From June 2022 he served the freshly formed World Aquatics’ Aquatics Integrity Unit – AQIU as a member elected. Since January 2023 he has served as Supervisory Council Member of AQIU, which position he hold as of today.

He advised European Aquatics during the process of establishing EA Integrity Code and the EA Integrity Unit in 2022-2023 and in between 2017-2024 he served as a World Aquatics Technical Official / Referee in Swimming.

This online session will focus on strengthening a culture of integrity across all levels of the sport, by raising awareness and sharing practical insights with National Federations and stakeholders. The event will also be featured as part of the SIGA Integrity Month, underlining our shared values and cooperation with global integrity initiatives. During the webinar, European Aquatics will present the European Aquatics Integrity Code, a landmark document that reinforces our collective principles and provides practical guidance to support National Federations in implementing integrity measures across their activities.
